Scotland’s Landscapes:
Celebrating the Natural World
My work explores the beauty and intrigue of the world around me, drawing inspiration from architecture, people, and nature.
My latest series was sparked by a trip to Scotland, where I was captivated by the moody colors, expansive vistas, and the striking contrasts between water, land, sky, and ocean. The blend of historic architecture, untouched landscapes, and lush greenery compelled me to create a series celebrating these memorable scenes. I use fluid acrylics on watercolor paper to explore both translucency and opaqueness, combining the qualities of watercolors with the flexibility needed for depth and texture.
Through my work, I aim to convey a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world. I hope viewers will be inspired to seek out and admire the beauty in their own surroundings.

The Mint House
2019
High noon sunlight streams down the street and pushes the stark shadows into even greater contrast. A family rushes by the mint house on the corner, blending in with the cool blues and greens and streaming shadows cast by the leaves on the trees. I watch them move by, and after another admiring glance at the vibrant building I move along as well.

Stella
2018
Morning sun dissipates the shadows that spread overnight. The air is cool. Fall is moving on to winter. This is a time for quiet reflection and taking joy in the simple pleasure of a walk through the neighborhoods. Stores are still quiet and chairs still sit on café tables, waiting for a new day to start. In just a few hours this place will e surrounded y voices and action. For now the streets only sounds are the footsteps of the morning commuters ad the leaves rustling in the breeze.
